The Festival of Ideas has been held every two years since 1999 confronts an intellectual landscape massively broadened by the information explosion. All of the speakers are leaders in their field and aim to engage with the audience in a meaningful way.

Themes for past Festivals have included Hope and Fear; What is to be done?; Which way to the future?; and Pushing the Limits. This years Festival will be based on dealing with uncertainty.
